New London — New London School Superintendent Cynthia Ritchie on Monday fired Corriche Gaskin, the 35-year-old behavioral specialist charged in the sexual assault of an underage middle schooler, a district spokesman confirmed Tuesday.

Gaskin is accused by New London police of not only sexually assaulting a teen but secretly recording the assault, as well as his sexual exploits with at least two teachers — ages 25 and 21 — at Bennie Dover Jackson Middle School during the 2016-17 school year. He additionally is charged with showing students the sex videos.

Held in lieu of a $500,000 bond, Gaskin faces eight felony charges: four counts of risk of injury to a minor, second-degree sexual assault, voyeurism with malice, disseminating voyeuristic material and third-degree possession of child pornography.

He has pleaded not guilty to all charges and is due to appear June 5 in New London Superior Court. Four other district employees remain on leave in connection with an ongoing investigation at the school.
