Seeing history in New London
New London — Jody Barthel, education coordinator at the Custom House Maritime Museum, was leading third-graders from Nathan Hale Arts Magnet School around Fort Trumbull on Friday, part of local history tours.
The tours, which include visits to the museum, the Shaw Mansion, the Hempsted Houses and the Nathan Hale Schoolhouse in downtown, are funded through a grant for the third- and fourth-graders in the city.
