"Nights in White Satin," "Land of Make Believe," "Question," "The Story in Your Eyes," "I Know You're Out There Somewhere," "Your Wildest Dreams," "New Horizons," "Gypsy," "The Actor" ...

"Lovely to See You," "Dawning is the Day," "It's Up to You," "Never Comes the Day," "One Lonely Room," "Are You Sitting Comfortably?," "Driftwood," "The Other Side of Life," "You Can Never Go Home," "Watching and Waiting" ...

"You and Me," "Gemini Dream," "The Way of the World," "Billy," "The Voice," "Tuesday Afternoon," "The Western Sky" ...

Hmm. Well, that's a damned amazing list of songs — all courtesy of songwriter Justin Hayward from either his albums with the Moody Blues or his solo career. Throw in his version of "Forever Autumn" from Jeff Wayne's "War of the Worlds," and it's almost scary how great Hayward continues to be.

He's coming Saturday to the Garde Arts Center. He'll be accompanied by virtuoso guitarist Mike Dawes (folks who saw the Tommy Emmanuel show will remember Dawes as the stunning opener) and Julie Ragins. As rendered in a trio format, Hayward's tunes are instantly familiar but also deliciously intimate and haunting.

No telling what the setlist will include, but count on plenty of Moody hits. Everything else you'll hear? Well, they SHOULD HAVE been hits. And don't miss a short opening set by Dawes.

Justin Hayward, 8 p.m. Saturday, Garde Arts Center, 325 State St., New London; $59-$69; (860) 444-7373,
